Copper Blues

Copper Blues Bar & Grill opened its doors in February 2002 becoming the pioneer restaurant in the Blue Mountain Village. Copper Blues has continually proven their status as a premier dining restaurant. The collective experience of the owners and committed staff shines through as each individual contributes his or her own area of expertise to offer the ever thriving and changing business. Copper Blues can host corporate functions and social events of any size and specializes in providing an unsurpassed culinary experience.
To match the premier experience of dining indoor at Copper Blues, the owners approached Shade Sails Canada to design a comfortable, safe, and waterproof open air space for their customers to enjoy dining outdoors in any weather. The indoor colour theme is a smooth sky blue colour reminiscent of flowing water which was perfectly matched by our Laguna Blue coloured DriZ waterproof Shade Cloth.
The goal of this project was to create a semi-hexagonal Shade Structure incorporating waterproof and shade coverage for the entire patio space. Special considerations for this project included late afternoon sun, limited use of land space due to the restaurant’s location on city property, and the depth limitation for mounting posts due to the patios location above an underground parkade. All of these hurdles were overcome thanks to great collaboration between Shade Sails Canada and the client and the results speak for themselves! You can enjoy this outdoor space and the fantastic dining experience at Copper Blues 3 seasons of the year, and Copper Blues’ indoor dining experience during the Winter months.

Free Span Fabric Structures
A free-span fabric structure is a cable reinforced, high-tension Shade Sail spanned between multiple anchor points. The fabric sail can be attached to existing structures and/or posts, which are engineered to support large amounts of load. These structures can cover both large and small areas and are particularly aesthetic, especially when post/attachment point heights are varied to create hyperbolic (twisted fabric) shapes. While the posts for these structures are permanent, the fabric itself can be removed for the winter and during storms. Free-span fabric structures are widely used across many industries and applications including restaurants, playgrounds, seating areas, public parks and spaces, storage and events.
