Shade Analysis & Design Service
Our Shade Analysis & Design service is the best way to visualize your next shade sail project. It helps determine which designs are possible, which are most effective, and how much shade will be created at different times of the day.
What’s Included
- An interactive 3D model to view the structure from multiple angles in your space
- Free edits to the rendering design (reasonable changes included)
To Get Started
To create your rendering, we’ll need:
- Photos of the property
- A rough sketch of the shaded area with approximate dimensions
- Your address (used for Google Maps-based sun-tracking analysis)
Once you place your order, a member of our sales team will follow up to better understand your needs. Your designs will be ready within a week!
Note: This service is often used to explore overlapping shade sail designs. While these layouts are possible, keep in mind that each sail corner requires its own unique anchor point or post. As a result, overlapping designs may increase the number of posts required and overall project cost.

When landscaping our backyard, we wanted a shade solution that could cover a large area without being architecturally heavy. We worked with SSC to explore a variety of configurations using software models. Once we found a solution, we installed our posts, took final measurements, and our sails were manufactured to exactly the size we needed. Jake and his team were extraordinarily helpful in troubleshooting our unique design and installation issues from start to finish.

Really glad we took the time to do a shade sale analysis. We discovered that we didn’t have shade in our seating area in the late afternoon and as a result, Niall was able to suggest a traveler system to give us the shade we needed.

Our design service is meant to show what is possible in your space with shade sails, as well as what is not feasible. If you're unsatisfied with the initial renderings and design that's ok - revisions are free and unlimited and our team will work with you to find creative solutions for your space.
We pride ourselves on collaborating with our customers to create designs that are both aesthetic and functional.

Worked with staff at s&s Canada to figure out a solution for our shade needs in our rear yard. I paid for the design and was given pictures and video of our yard with suggestions on how we could shade the areas. We consulted a number of times with each question b and suggestion was dealt with quickly and with using our ideas. Very timely and considerate service by all staff.
At the end we could not come up with a solution but it being my reluctance to cut concrete for the necessary support posts. They offered many ideas but I just felt we would move in another direction.
I did enjoy and appreciate all their effort to make the sail work
I would definitely recommend s&s Canada to my family and friends.

I could not proceed after buying the custom design service. I was not getting the look from it, even after it being reworked. The software is needing to be revised, inho, so as to convey the overall design I want. I wish I did not spend the money.

Every customer has a unique vision for their design and we try our best to bring that out in our renderings. It's true that not all outdoor spaces can facilitate a Shade Sail array. In your case, unfortunately, the design nature of Shade Sails did not fit within your anchor point limitations and design parameters.
Your vision for the bent-angled Shade Sails matching your surfboard table was interesting! We tried our best to match your instructions.
In the case of your project, the design service did exactly what it was supposed to: through 3 rendering reiterations, we showed you what was possible for your space, so you could determine whether or not a Shade Sail was the right solution.
