Free-Span Shade Sail Fabric Structure
Junction 9 is an upscale health and fitness studio in Inglewood, Calgary. The studio provides Yoga, Pilates and various other wellness and fitness classes both inside and on their beautiful rooftop. The studio wanted to maintain their ability to run outdoor fitness classes overlooking the Calgary skyline while providing a safe and shaded area for their clients.
Key considerations were the location of the sail on the rooftop and the inability to construct extensive footings. Shade Sails Canada designed a guy wire system to support the tensile loading on the sail to compensate for the lack of footing. Custom-designed knee posts were also used to combat the restriction in space available for footings while providing maximum amounts of shade.
