Its robust support system helps maintain stability and performance during inclement weather. Its hyperbolic shade sail design provides aerodynamic advantages over a flat canopy by allowing wind to flow around the structure more effectively.
Unobtrusive Footing
Our Hypods offer two types of footings:
- Base Plate. A base plate footing is a practical and effective option for installing a Hypod shade structure, as it provides a secure and stable connection between the mast and the concrete foundation. It allows for easier installation and maintenance, while keeping the connection accessible above ground.
- Direct Embedded. A direct embedded footing simplifies construction by eliminating the need for complex anchor bolts and base plates, as the structural post is set directly into a deep poured-concrete shaft. This continuous connection significantly enhances lateral and uplift resistance, which is essential for counteracting the heavy wind shear and dynamic loads inherent to a hypod structure's asymmetrical, hyperbolic design. Additionally, it maintains a clean, minimal ground-level footprint that minimizes trip hazards and maximizes usable space underneath.
