As it is pre-engineered, it offers a faster, more cost-effective alternative to custom designs. With proven engineering and streamlined manufacturing, the Simple Hip simplifies planning, reduces installation time, and provides predictable costs.
This is THE SIMPLE HIP
A classic, self-supporting steel frame with sloping sides with minmal footing requirements compared to traditional shade structures.
And our most affordable shade solution.
Pre-engineered
Affordable
A pre-engineered simple hip structure dramatically accelerates project delivery by minimizing design and engineering timelines.
Off-site factory fabrication eliminates field welding and installation guesswork, significantly lowering overall labor costs and site assembly time.
The result is our most cost-effective shade sail solution built to withstand extreme weather and ready to deploy rapidly during short construction seasons.
Footings you'll never see
Because the force of the tensioned fabric is supported by the steel frame, the required footings are much less extensive than in a free-span structure.
For applications where the structure is installed on an existing surface like concrete or asphalt, we can bolt the steel frame down.
For less substantial surfaces like grass, small concrete footings are required.
Simplified Installation
Installing your simple hip takes one day. Designed for rapid assembly, each component slides seamlessly into position without special tools.

Premium Components
We use only Marine 316 stainless steel hardware and high-tensile fabrics from the world’s premium providers, Monotec and Gale Pacific.
Shade Analysis & Design
Our 3 dimensional Shade Analysis shows shaded spaces at different times of the day, maximizing needed shade areas while allowing sunlight in others.
Share this with your clients giving you/them complete control of the finished product and vision of the space.
Our Shade Architect specializes in our products and works in house, so you can expect prompt response times for edits and feedback. Use this service as a tool to offer clients an accurate representation of the shade they can expect for their space.
