Zip ties are an added safety measure to prevent the body of the turnbuckle from rotating and becoming loose.
-
Tension and adjust the turnbuckle
Rotate to lock the nuts of the turnbuckle to each end of the barrel and tighten as much as possible. The turnbuckle is now “locked off”. -
Thread the zip tie through the turnbuckle body and around one end fitting.
Pass the zip tie through the hole in the turnbuckle body and then around the one of the ends. -
Tighten the zip tie so rotation is restricted
Pull the zip tie snug enough that the body cannot easily rotate relative to the end fitting. Trim the excess tail if required.
To put the sail down, please cut zip tie and dispose. For next season, please find them on our website or in other online platforms.
