Known for its premium offerings, the studio provides Yoga, Pilates, and a variety of wellness and fitness classes—both indoors and on its stunning rooftop overlooking the Calgary skyline.

The Challenge: Rooftop Shade Without Footings

The team at Junction 9 wanted to continue offering outdoor classes while ensuring a safe, shaded environment for their clients. However, several key challenges needed to be addressed:

Shade Sails Canada engineered a custom shade sail system specifically for Junction 9 Yoga Studio:

• Guy Wire Support System: To overcome the lack of traditional footings, a tensioned guy wire system was implemented to handle the tensile loads.

• Custom Knee Posts: Designed to minimize the footprint, these posts maximized shade coverage while fitting the unique spatial constraints of the rooftop.
